characteristics
There are various types of colors, from carnelian color - or rather, an orange color closer to red, or the oxidized red color of the hematite it contains - to red color with white or transparent stripes, or even light yellow.
history
It is said the name comes from the Latin word Kernel, meaning of fruit and carneolus, meaning of‘the flesh.' Napoleon I and Napoleon III wore a carnelian seal bearing the words: "The slave Abraham relying upon the Merciful (God)."
